Q: What are the hot long-term programs and short term classes being offered and filled at this point for health care at community colleges?
A: We have found some interesting information and articles that will help give you a good perspective on what’s hot in Healthcare this year.
This article specifically mentions:

Surgical technology
Medical assistant
Occupational therapy assistant programs
Most of the programs offer two-year Associate of Applied Science degrees.
The surgical technology and medical assistant programs offer certificates of completion.
I can send you links for other specific LERN member community colleges that offer these types of programming so you can see their curriculum and program terms. Please let me know if there are certain topics that interest you most.
Other areas that we have heard are strong include dental assisting and respiratory technology.
Some additional areas of interest that are developing relate to Fitness and Health programs including Sports massage and training, Worksite health promotion, Fitness program design, CPR, Exercise psychology and counseling. This are not necessarily offered directly through Healthcare programs at community colleges, but represent an area of interest along the same line as Personal Trainers that saw so much growth over the past five years or so.
