Q: I am a new programming manager for the Mid-Plains Community College Center for Enterprise. We have been working with Greg and he suggested I contact you for assistance. At the present time, we are focusing our attention on scheduling the Spring 2012 Community Short Courses and Professional Development classes which will begin the end of January and run through March. As you can infer, we have a fast approaching deadline. Could you share with me what the hot new programs/classes are, what areas we should be focusing our attention to, and suggestions of what we could bring to our campus to increase community involvement?
A: Our LERN expert wanted to ask for a little more clarification in terms of programming areas, as “Community Short Courses and Professional Development” is a broad range. Are there categories of your programming that you could provide to point us in the right direction?
Just as a “general” overview, we have been hearing about good enrollments for community colleges for:
Allied Health Care and RN Refresher courses
Yoga
Short-term occupational skills training
Exercise / Social Dance
Medical coding & billing
Cooking
Website design
Photography
Starting a business
Green/Sustainable practices training
Skilled trades
Pre-Nursing & Nursing Ed
Vet Tech
GED
Please let me know how we can help from here. Thanks for your inquiry.
