Q: I am in need of an evaluation form to evaluate the quality of our online course productions. Can you help me with this?
A: The best evaluation for your online courses is: 1) Ask, "Overall, were you satisfied with the course? ---Yes ---No" 2) Comments: (open space for them to comment) 3) Your Name (optional, but helpful) Ratings vary on the mood of the person. Someone who liked most of the course but didn't like one aspect might give a course a "2." Some people are less, or more, charitable than others. You will, at best, get overall evaluations in the 3.0 - 4.0 range, which doesn't impress anyone in your publicity. The question about being satisfied overall has a number of benefits. One it is short and will get higher response than a laundry list of questions. Two, you know whether the person was satisfied. A 3.8, or 2.9, or 4.1 doesn't give you that information. For any unsatisfied people, you can offer a refund and do customer service. Three, you have a nice high percentage number to promote in your publicity. ##% of people are satisfied overall with our courses. The comments section gives people the option to comment or not. They will tell you what they liked and did not like. This is better than guessing with a laundry list of questions. The laundry list of questions creates more problems than it answers. What will you actually do if the instructor was not "friendly"? And you won't get the issue that really bugs or hits the person. And it takes time to score all the evaluations. And so on.
