Q: When mailing out postcards after my catalog has gone out, what is the recommended target of recipients to mail these cards? Should they go to the same mailing list as the catalog (all residents of 5 towns plus an inhouse list) or should I target carrier routes. Any help is welcome.
A: A follow-up postcard mailing should be sent to a targeted list. The optimal strategy would be to mail to your most productive carrier routes. If you have not received a carrier route analysis from LERN (free with your membership), email us and we will let you know what information to send to get that. Even more important than a postcard mailing is to mail your brochure twice. The first mailing should go to your standard distribution list and the second mailing should go to your best customers. It should be sent out about two weeks after the first mailing goes out. This has proven to be a very successful strategy for increasing enrollments.
