Q: I just had a quick question about photo captions. If we have the students names, including those of children, should we use them in our photo captions?
Please let me know your thoughts.
A: Including the name of the person who provided the testimonial is always a good idea because it adds credibility (so that people can’t think you made it up). But in order to do that, you need to have permission from the person who provided the testimonial statement. For children, the permission must come from the parents, of course. And if you want to use only the first name of a child, that will work (readers will understand this with regard to children).
Basically you want those testimonials to show readers that past participants in your program are willing to share their positive feelings about your program, and “go public” about their positive experiences. When you include the name, it confirms that.
I have also attached a LERN article on the Power of Testimonials for your reference.
