Q: was reading the document “Why you should be offering Community Education and Avocational Courses” and found reference to a study performed by LERN (see quote below):
In another LERN study, which has been corroborated by others, it was found that participants in community education programs vote to support school funding initiatives at a higher rate than those who do not, even if they do not have children in the public schools.
I was wondering if the actual study was available to LERN members and if so, where I might be able to get a copy.
A: I have attached two files that may be of interest to you. One is a copy of the LERN information, and another is the Powerpoint Presentation I did this year at our annual conference. It offers additional insights, and hopefully you will find it to be of value, as well. Bill Morris of Decision Resources has done even more in this area, so that is another resource for you to pursue. Thanks for asking, and let us know if we can be of further assistance.
