Selling or Licensing Training

Q: We have a Financial Coaching curriculum that is taught/contracted to non-profits across the United States. We have received several inquiries from non-profit organizations to purchase the curriculum to hold their own training sessions. I am looking for other LERN members who have sold or licensed training to see their process or model. Would you be able to help connect us to someone?

A: Some non-profits have sold or licensed training. We think ASQ, a large association based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is one such organization.
But you might also gain from the many for-profits who sell or license training.
For the for-profits, there is a financial split between 20% and 40% of revenue going to the organization licensing the training.
We at LERN would suggest a higher percentage going to the organizing licensing the training, as that would be a greater incentive.
The other issue is the contract or agreement, but that should not be too difficult. You will want clauses about reproduction of material,
Uses of your material, and ownership of the material (that would be you).
