Q: I’m specifically interested in any information you have on the latest trends in online learning systems (i.e. software platforms, how-to, best practices).
A: The most important trend in online learning is that it continues to grow rapidly as a delivery method for education at all levels. The platform we recommend is one that we have developed and which allows a more interactive learning experience for students. It is an asynchronous platform but allows for teacher facilitated learning, inclusion of video, audio lectures with Powerpoint, as well as readings and teacher interaction. We offer online courses on how to be an effective online instructor as well as a faculty development institute which features online instruction as a focus and a certified online instructor online training opportunity. We have a publication on teaching online as well.
