Q: Can LERN assist with a brief checklist of how to strategically introduce our community college to new employers who come locate to our area. i.e. Basically, how we can quickly get our foot in the door, gain name personal name recognition, and gain recognition of our community college as a preferred provider to a new employer. Thank for any suggestions.
One I have thought of so far ....is visit or call the company to set up an appointment and give goodies such as koozies and leather portfolio (items that we have on hand for marketing.)
A: Here are a couple of other ideas. I will also forward this to our consultant who works most closely with contract training and ask if there are additional ideas.
Other options to consider:
Offer a tour of your college and set up meetings with key training providers
Schedule an open house for area employers so they can get to know your college and the players there. Involve local organizations involved in economic development, workforce development, etc.
Set up a reception for the new employer, and invite them and their key people to meet key people in your college and in your community.
