Q: We are seeking some income percentages. What percent of our income should come from Contract Training and what percentage should come from open enrollment?
A: Great question. LERN recommends the greater the diversity in your offerings, the better you are positioned to both tap into new growth areas, and be less affected by a decline in any one area. LERN sets as a benchmark or guideline that no more than 30% of a program’s income should be in any one area. This obviously is a guideline and you should continue to grow income in any and every area, but what it means is that if you exceed 30% in one given area you would want to spend more time and energy developing and increasing income in your other areas.
