How Do We Handle Marketing With Limited Staff?

Q: Yesterday, was the last day for my full-time Marketing and Programming person. The suggestion has been made to replace the position with student workers. While I know that is not effective, I'm wondering if there is any documentation that LERN has available that I can use. The last year’s budget was about $XXX in revenue and $XXX in expenses.

A: The roles of the programming professional and the marketing professional are key for the success of any continuing education/lifelong learning program. I've attached a report that provides the LERN recommendations on ideal staffing structure for self-sufficient operations. While students can be effective in carrying out routine  tasks related to marketing,and programming  the level of expertise and time required to meet the needs of a successful program far exceed the capabilities of most students.

These two positions provide the core of your program, and without strong support for these functions, you will likely see a significant drop in enrollments.
