Q: We are working on pricing and price breaks for our courses but some of them include books. Should the cost of the book be listed as a separate fee or should we include the cost of the book in the course fee and forego the price break?
A: Typically, it is best to include the cost of the book with the fee. You can price just below a price break by making minor adjustments in the course fee. For example if the course is $45 and the book is $25, instead of pricing at $70, including the book, price at $69 or $74. If you want to stay under the $70 price break, go for $69. If you think your participants would pay $70 or more, price at $74.
