UGC 101 Blog Header - Selecting UGotClass Courses

Ultimately, offering more courses makes your program look more robust and will bring in a wider variety of students.  Incorporating UGotClass courses into your offerings is a no-brainer - it's free for you to offer LERN's high-quality online courses led by expert instructors! Here are our recommendations and guidelines for picking what UGotClass courses and Certificates to offer:

On Your Website

  • Offer All
On your website, you should offer virtually all of our courses and certificates. If you are a Lumens user, the process is easy! For other programs, copy and paste data from your customized UGotClass web pages into your registration website.
  • Create Web Pages
On your website, it is worth your time to create a full web page for 1-3 of our top certificates. These certificates will remain popular for at least 3-4 years, based on past experience.  If you aren't sure how to start with this, look at this blog post on how our top partner created repetitive webpages last year.

In Your Print Brochure

  • Best Seller
Every program should offer our top best seller, the Certificate in Data Analysis. It is our most popular certificate and courses, generating around 20% of all UGotClass registrations.
  • Emphasize Certificates over Courses
Our certificates, on average, get more registrations than our courses. Plus you generate almost 3 times the income from a certificate than for a single course.  If your organization isn't able to advertise "Certificates," other partners use the term "bundle" or "series" on their websites.
  • Keep Offering Your Winners
If you get sufficient registrations from a given course or certificate, keep promoting it in your brochure.  Even if it has been in your last few brochures, students are obviously very interested in the topic.  If you get zero registrations for a course or certificate after running it in two brochures, drop it.  Leave it as an option on your website, but don't waste brochure space on a course that isn't popular with your students.
  • Tag 25% New
About 1 in 4 of your UGotClass offerings should have “New!” before the titles. It is new if you have not offered it yet, and of course new if it is a new UGotClass course or certificate.  We'll give you about 6 months notice when we release new courses or certificates, so you'll have plenty of time to add our new programs to your brochure.

We definitely recommend that you offer our top ten certificates.  Every few months, we'll include a current Top 10 List and let you know which courses are gaining traction and trending up in our Monthly Newsletter.  And, of course, we rely on you to help us create the next trends.  Let us know which courses you offer (or want to offer) F2F that would make a great online course.  Our partners are our best resource for finding new course topics and instructors, so please send any of your ideas to us.
