Testimonials are especially important for online courses, because most people feel more comfortable being able to work with their instructor and classmates face to face. Sharing the words of others who have already participated in the online course can help ease anxiety that reluctant learners may feel while coming into an unknown situation, much like offering a full refund. UGotClass collects a number of testimonials from our post-course evaluations. If you’d like us to send you what we have – just ask! If you'd rather collect your own, send all of your participants an email a few days after their course ends asking what they liked best about the course. Most students are happy to provide honest feedback. If you hear anything extraordinary, ask the student for permission to share their kind words with others (and pass it on to us!).
There are two different kinds of testimonials that UGotClass collects:
- Short 1-2 sentence testimonials that say how great the course/instructor/classroom/materials/etc. are.
Look for buzzwords that you may not see often. As flattered as we are to hear that everyone in the course thought the class was “good” or that they “really enjoyed it”, we look for testimonials that will set the course apart from its competition.
“This course has been a blessing to me” –Irma Perez (Stress Management)
“A must-have experience for online teachers!” -Jonathan C. (Designing Online Instruction)
`2. Results-Based testimonials that show what has happened for students as a result of taking this course.
Why is this course beneficial? What can students expect to get out of the course if they apply themselves and work to use what they learn right away? Who should be taking this course? These testimonials can get a bit lengthy, so you may end up shortening them a bit, but don’t cut out so much that your potential students lose the message.
“I immediately implemented the lessons, and am very pleased with the feedback from my students. Moreover, my Board of Directors has positively taken note of the post-class evaluations and surveys. I highly recommend this course, your respect for your profession and your joy for teaching adults is evident.” -Linda H. (Certificate in Teaching Adults)
“Having a PWD (Parent with Dementia) is a very difficult, emotional rollercoaster - I think I have found a way to make the ride a little less perilous.” -Ann Garoon (Dementia for Family Caregivers)
“This course was an awesome learning experience and the material was excellent. I have a better understanding of the culture in my workplace after getting the instruction on how each generation functions and views things. I would have never known that and thanks to this course, it is something that I will carry on forever in my career.“ -Andy Ruiz (Managing Generations in the Workplace)
