Q: WITC has begun to use the successful needs assessment model that several of us learned about at a LERN conference. My question is this: my Vice President is asking for documentation of the process. Do you have any samples of how other colleges are showing the process on paper?

A: Many of our members have used this process. There is no specific documentation of this exact process, because the steps are incorporated into more comprehensive planning initiatives as part of the strategic planning process. If you would like, we can give you contact information from others who have worked with LERN and who have shown marked success when following the LERN recommendations. They will not necessarily be a documentation of the specific process outlined in the 8 step needs assessment process, but all the components of that process will have been incorporated into their planning strategies.
