Q: I'm writing to find out some data for some research I'm conducting. Nationwide when community college's publish classes in their course catalog. On average what % of the classes are typically cancelled? Also do you have regional averages for this figure as well? Thank you

A: There is no national or regional average for the number of courses cancelled by community college programs, although we know that there are sometimes regional variations, based on economic or demographic or other factors.

If you are referring to non-credit, open-enrollment courses, there is a benchmark set by LERN of 10% to 15%. Most successful programs' cancellation rates fall within this range.
