Leaders in continuing education face many challenges, but they aren't alone.

Shrinking budgets, changing expectations and growing pressures all will remain among the biggest challenges for continuing education leadership. There also is a great concern of leaving a leadership legacy. 

Those in leadership positions can learn how to leave a lasting leadership legacy at an all new session at the LERN Annual Conference in San Francisco, Nov. 20-23, with Rita Martinez-Purson. 

Work in continuing education makes a difference in the lives of millions of people, and in her session, Martinez-Purson will explore how to maximize those legacies to the world through values-centered leadership that inspires quality and innovation.

Martinez-Purson is assistant dean at The University of Arizona Outreach College, as well as an award-winning program executive and group facilitation expert. She earned a doctorate in education from The University of New Mexico. 

Along with her session on leadership legacies, Martinez-Purson will participate in a panel discussion on other challenges faced by leadership in the field of continuing education.
